Mom Killed, Baby Injured As Police Chase After A Suspected "Yahoo Boy" In Benin

A mother has died in an accident that occured while police officers were allegedly chasing a "Yahoo boy" in Benin.
Mrs Grace Obajay, 29, was in an Uber with her one-year five months old baby, when a car rammed into them, flinging the baby out of the car, knocking the mother out, and also causing injuries to the Uber driver.

According to Vanguard, the car that rammed into them was driven by a suspected Yahoo boy being chased by police.

The auto crash occurred along Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State, last Friday, August 21.

The mum, who worked as a Secretary with Floret Systems and was only two months from celebrating her second year wedding anniversary, had ordered the Uber after she closed work for the day when the accident occured.

She was left bleeding from the mouth and nose and was unconscious following the accident. Her son, who had been flung out of the window due to the impact of the crash, was badly injured and cried out. The Uber driver, named Precious John, was also badly injured and immediately called his elder brother for help.

Speaking with Vanguard , elder brother of the Uber driver, Dickson John said, “I got a call from my brother at about 11 am. All he could mutter was ‘ come quickly, I’m dying, I can’t breathe, my chest, accident, airport road…, and the call ended. I tried reaching back to him but could not get him.

“I was accompanied to the scene by one of my comrades, Godwin Esosa, where I saw my brother’s car stained with blood and fuel was dripping from its engine but there was no sight of him.

“We gathered from eyewitnesses that a team of policemen in a carton colour Audi car was chasing a suspected yahoo boy in a Toyota Camry 2012 model. In his bid to escape from the police, he ran into my brother’s car which was just entering airport road from Saint Paul. The policemen never made an attempt to save them. Rather, they abandoned them to fate.

“A Reverend father rushed the baby to Saint Philomena hospital for immediate attention, while my brother and mother of the baby were rushed to Faith Mediplex hospital for immediate medical attention. The yahoo suspect was rushed to the police clinic for treatment.

South African Conservationist Killed By White Lions

A well-known South African conservationist has died after he was mauled by two white lions as he was taking them for a walk.

The wife of West Mathewson, who followed in a car, tried to distract the lions but it was too late.
He ran a popular safari lodge, Lion Tree Top Lodge, in Limpopo province.

The lionesses have since been moved to another game lodge and are expected to be released into the wild at a later stage.

A lioness became aggressive towards the other and then turned her attention to the conservationist affectionately known as "Uncle West", reports the BBC's Nomsa Maseko from Johannesburg.

His relatives have said that Wednesday's attack could have been the result of very rough play.
The lionesses were tranquillised following the attack and have been taken to an endangered species centre.

Mr Mathewson is said to have rescued the lions from "canned hunting" - when animals are hunted in an enclosed area, or they are bred to be hunted - and they were kept in an enclosure at his lodge.
The lionesses reportedly killed a man working on a neighbouring property after they broke out of the enclosure in 2017.

The 2020/21 premier league season is due to start on Saturday, September 12th and Chelsea would begin their campaign away to Brighton.

Lionel Messi 'wants Neymar to join him at Man City' after private talks with ex-Barcelona star

Lionel Messi has held private talks with Neymar and wants his former Barcelona teammate to join him at Manchester City, according to reports in Brazil.
Nou Camp chiefs are working to convince Messi to stay at the club following the Argentina superstar's bombshell request to leave.

The 33-year-old rocked the Catalan giants on Tuesday night, when it is understood he asked for his contract, which has a year still to run, to be terminated under an end-of-season release clause.

Messi's intention to quit the Nou Camp came after Ronald Koeman's appointment as Quique Setien's successor last week, following a hugely disappointing season which ended with an 8-2 Champions League quarter-final drubbing by Bayern Munich.

And according to ESPN Brasil, Messi has his heart set on a reunion with Pep Guardiola - and even wants Neymar to join him at the Etihad.

11 BAD HABITS COMMON AMONGST NIGERIANS

Below are 11 bad habits many Nigerians commonly have.

1. ARRIVING LATE TO PARTIES

Why do people like arriving late to a party?

2. CHEWING FOOD NOISILY

Nothing is more annoying and irritating than a full grown adult chewing his/her food with their mouth wide open like a pit. The sound alone is worse, it can make someone go insane.
Borrow pose

3. BORROW POSE
This simply means showing off with stuff that is not yours. Some social media influencers are on this table.

Most Nigerians love do this borrow pose , and we especially do this when we plan on impressing someone, or just want to show off to the public that doesn't even know you.

4.CRACKING OUR KNUCKLES

Anywhere Nigerians go they must crack one part of their body especially the knuckles. Well, I just cracked mine while writing this. We move!.

5. INSULTING OUR PRESIDENT

This one is a general case. We just love insulting our presidents, both past and present.
Well I won't lie, I am guilty. They are not doing us well.

6. SCRATCHING IN PUBLIC

This is why I don't shake hands with people. You don't know where the hand went to. A lot of Nigerians are fond of scratching in public. Guy will scratch their junk, girls will scratch their butt. Everyone is scratching.

7. PICKING THEIR NOSE

Another reason why I don't shake people in this country. After picking the nonsense in that nose you want to use me and clean your hands. My friend please shift one side.

8. NOT WASHING THEIR HANDS PROPERLY

This is a common problem. Since childhood Nigerians have been fond of this one.

Please try to wash hands during this pandemic.

9. NOT WASHING THEIR HANDS AFTER VISITING THE TOILET

Another reason why you should shake anyone you see or anybody. Most Nigerians are fond of using the toilet and not washing hands.

10. FLASHING ON MOBILE PHONES

Nigerians are flashers.

We love flashing and we will cut the call quickly before they pick.

I have never flashed before (who stoned me?).

11. REMOVING EAR WAX WITH A BROOM, MATCHSTICK ETC

If you are on this table, come for meeting tomorrow. A lot of Nigerians love doing this. In fact we put anything we see in our ear when it's itching us.
