Ogun State Government Received A Baby Who Was Dumped Near A River In Sagamu.

Just yesterday 10th of July, 2020 a baby was dumped close to a river at Ijagba, Sagamu but was unable to be swept away due to the refuse dumped close to the river.

However with the intervention of an NGO,  the ONAJI Foundation contacted the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development about the safety of the child and took him to the state head quarters of the Nigeria Police Force at Elewe-Eran, Abeokuta.

In pursuit of the safety and welfare of the abandoned child, the Director of Social Welfare in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mr. Egbeolowo Kehinde received the child from the State Police Force headquarter and he's in good care of the state government while the police force promised to unravel the person behind such monstrous and hard-hearted act.

In her appreciation message to the ONAJI Foundation, Commissioner for Women Affairs And Social Development, Hon. Mrs, Efuwape Funmilayo expresses her gratitude to the Foundation National Secretary,  Hon. Folarin Oluwole for making the Ministry work easier and promised that the well-being and vitality of the child is now the responsibility of the state government at the children orphanage.

Jada-Pinkett-Smith And Her Many Men

Jada-Pinkett-Smith, wife of famous actor Will Smith, recent came out that she had a romantic relationship with 27 year old singer August Alsina.

It is also  allegedTupac once wrote a poem for Jada Smith which had the lines “ you bring me to climax without sex”. It has been widely circulated that at the time of his death, the rapper was still very much inlove with her.

It has never been a secret that their relationship was rather 'unique' as they were in a type of open relationship.

It appears Will smith loved Jada so much that he wanted to see her happy even if it meant she wanted to see other people.

She recently confessed to having an affair with August Alsina, who lived with the couple at some point. She also debunked claims that Will was in support of the affair although she did claim to have been at a 'low' point in her life and also confessed to not 'knowing' Will any more.

August himself seems to have been mesmerised by the actress that he remarked  “I can die right now and be ok knowing I had that type of love” he spoke in detail about how glad he is that he experienced that love from Jada.

I don't know what kind of kayamata she's using or what type of ill nana she has but whatever it is, it seems to be hooking brothers so deeply they are willing to do anything to have her.

NNPC Staff Tortures Househelp, Burns Her Private Part

A staff of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Kaduna, Mrs Yemi Awolola has been arrested for allegedly torturing and sexually abusing her 14-year-old house help.

She picked the victim from an Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDP) camp in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna 15 months ago.

Daily Trust Saturday gathered that the victim had been given to Mrs Yemi by her parents on the agreement that she would be supported to go to school. Mrs Yemi and her family members had allegedly tortured the victim, including using a lighter to burn the victim’s private part and also inserting the lighter in her private part.

The Kaduna State Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development, Hafsat Baba on Friday said the victim had been made to sleep in the toilet and often times is made to drink toilet water by Mrs Yemi, adding that the offence is contrary to the Kaduna State Child Welfare and Protection Law.

Baba said though the victim is presently receiving treatment at a private hospital, she would be transferred to the state-owned Barau Dikko hospital, adding that the state government will mate out sanctions on Mrs Yemi on three counts of child labour, violence against children as well as sexual violence.

She said the suspect is presently in police custody and urged them to ensure that she is prosecuted while assuring that she would personally write letters to the NNPC to notify them of the involvement of their staff.

Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed confirmed the arrest of the suspect, saying the case has been forwarded to the state CID for investigation.

Ogun lost three Obas in one week

No fewer than three Obas were reported to have died in Ogun in a space of one week.
DAILY POST reports that Obas died between Saturday and today.

The first to die among the Obas was the Alakija of Ikija Orile Egba, Oba Shamusideen Ayorinde.

It was reported that Oba Shamusideen Ayorinde, died in the morning, on Saturday, Saturday, July 4.

According to reports, the monarch died after a brief illness.
He died at the age of 88.

Oba Ayorinde was also the pioneer monarch to be crowned as the Alakija of Ikija, in Oke Ona Egba.
His remains was laid to rest on Sunday, July 5 in accordance with Islamic rites.

A day after his demise, the Olu of Oke-Odo Ilupeju, Oba Mufutau Akindele, also kicked the bucket.

He also died as a result of a brief illness
Many may be wondering why the Obas died almost at the same time. It appears everything was just a coincidence.
The Obas are old enough, even though we didn't want them to go now, there is nothing we can do.

The Alakija was 88, the Olu of Oke-Odo was 90 and the Olu of Imasayi was 77.
They were all said to have died after a brief illness.
May the souls of the Obas rest in peace.

Jada Pinkett Smith Confesses About Affair

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith "never ever thought that we would make it back."

But the couple came together for a special Friday edition of her "Red Table Talk" show on Facebook to share their side of the controversy surrounding her relationship with singer August Alsina.

According to the superstar couple they "were going through a very difficult time" and had broken up when Pinkett Smith started a romantic relationship with the 27-year-old singer.

Will Smith opens up about the 'weight of parenting' and how he became a better father to Willow

During their "Red Table Talk" chat Smith pushed his wife to be clear about what her relationship had been with Alsina.

"I got into an entanglement with August," Pinkett Smith said.

In a recent interview with radio host Angela Yee, Alsina said he had been involved in a romantic relationship with Pinkett Smith, who has been married to Smith since 1997.

"I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation," Alsina said during the interview. "Due to the transformation from their marriage to (a) life partnership that they have spoken on several times, and not involving romanticism, he gave me his blessing."

Alsina said he had lost money and relationships because of rumors he had been involved with Pinkett Smith, 48.

The actress and her 51-year-old husband have long been the subject of rumors that they have an open marriage.

Will Smith reveals he was jealous of Tupac's relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith
The couple has denied this, but says their marriage is not traditional and that they have a "life partnership."

On Friday's episode the pair said they felt compelled to speak out because there was so much speculation after Alsina's interview.

"We specifically never said anything," Will Smith said. "Coming to the table was like we just felt like it got to the point where you gotta say something."

Pinkett Smith said she began a friendship with Alsina about four and a half years ago and that became more once she and her husband hit a rough patch.

She also said she wanted to clear up Alsina having said her husband had given permission for the affair, though she added that she understood why the young singer may have believed that to be the case.

"The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself," she said. "I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he's also not a homewrecker. Which he's not."

The actress said she was "in a lot of pain" and "broken" during the relationship.

Jada Pinkett Smith says she discovered she doesn't know husband Will Smith at all
She and Will tried "everything we could to get away from each other only to realize that wasn't possible."

Pinkett Smith said her relationship with Alsina ended, the Smiths reconciled, and she said she has not spoken to the singer in years.

She said she and her husband have now gotten to a place of "unconditional love."

Smith said he had been unsure as to whether he would ever speak to Pinkett Smith again when they were having problems, but he reminded her of their commitment.

"I told you the first year we were married, that I could love you through anything," Will Smith said.

The couple bumped fists as they jokingly recited their rendition of his "Bad Boys" movie motto: "We ride together, we die together. Bad marriage for life." Source Here

AGEMO MASQUERADE

Agemo

I am opportuned by virtue of my origin to have witnessed and experienced  a lot of rich cultural & traditional festivals. In the Remo (formerly Ijebu remo) area which I hail from, I have been left captivated, enchanted and mesmerized by many of such festivals amongst which is the Agemo festival.

I can remember vividly as a child seeing half-naked fierce looking men, who accompied the Agemo masquerades, taking turns to willingly  whip each other with the long whips they were holding. I am not sure which was more terrifying, ths sight of the men whipping each other or the 'moving' mats which danced hapharzardly around the arena. The arena was often open streets or in a king's palace,

The Agemo masquerade belongs to  the yoruba speaking people of Ijebuland. It is an enigmatic  phenomenon which is meant to be invincible. It is one of the most powerful deities in  Ijebuland believed to be a protector of children and also ensures blessings of Ijebu people. Agemo is believed to have been introduced by the mythical Obanta clans.

Festival

The festival usually takes place between the Months of June & August As a deity and unseen god, it dishes out instruction to custodian (The Oloja) and the like OLUGBON ASE (TAMI) to be carried out. The festival is usually preceded by "Ireku" which marks the opening of the gate for the Agemos to come into Imosan. The coming of the  Agemos into Imosan through Ijebu Ode is called "Iworo."

The festival lasts seven days and takes place after consultation between the Awujale (paramount ruler) of Ijebu land & the heads of sixteen recognized or titled agemos also called Olofas.

Agemo festival historically commenced after seven days of chanting by the Oro cult beating their gbedu drums after which the sixteen  Agemo masquerades from sixteen different villages gather at Imosan  via Ijebu-Ode to spend three days at the Agemo shrine where they receive gifts from the Awujale. It is a taboo for women to see the Agemos on their way to Imosan.

The Agemo masquerades perform several traditional rites and appease the Agemo deity. On the last day of the festival where a traditional ritual dance is performed, it can be witnessed by women. The masquerades then make their way to Ijebu Ode where the  festival ends with the dance by the leader of the agemo, 'Tami Onire' before the Awujale and further public dances by the other agemos.

Masquerades

There are 16 different types of Agemo masquerades and 15 are covered from head to toe in Raffia and wearing head masks. The 16th type, Agemo Eleni  (translates to Agemo with the Mat) which is about half the height of the other Agemo masquerades  is covered with a Mat.

HushPuppi Was Married To A St Kitts Woman For St Kitts Citizenship

The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis have assured that Ramon Olorunwa Abbas alias ‘Ray Hushpuppi’ is not a citizen of the Federation through Citizenship By Investment but admitted he was a citizen through Marriage.

Ramon Olorunwa Abbas faces money laundering conspiracy charges in the United States, according to the Department of Justice. He appeared in a federal court in Chicago on Friday accused of conspiring to launder hundreds of millions of dollars through cybercrime schemes.

In a statement Monday the government of St. Kitts and Nevis said it has become aware of reports and rumors concerning the Federation’s citizenship of Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, allegedly a person of interest to the United States FBI.

“We note that the Nigeria-born Mr. Abbas, 37, was granted a St. Kitts and Nevis passport in February 2020 by virtue of his marriage to Shawana Nakesia Chapman, 32, a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis by birth and the United States of America. Ms. Chapman, a resident of North Carolina, USA, married Mr. Abbas in Nigeria in October 2018, thereby conferring him with the right to St. Kitts and Nevis citizenship.”

The statement noted that reports stating he was a Citizenship by Investment were false.

“Any suggestion that citizenship was obtained through means other than marriage– such as the country’s Citizenship by Investment program, which includes rigorous background checks – is therefore utterly false and willfully misleading.”

Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, according to reports claims to run a real estate business. He is purported to have conspired to launder millions of dollars through business email compromise (BEC) frauds and other scams, the US Department of Justice said.

He was arrested last month by authorities in the United Arab Emirates, where he was a resident

Ogun State Kings- The Ewusi Of Makun Sagamu

EWUSI OF MAKUN

My father, Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya, is the current Ewusi of Makun, Sagamu, Remo, Ogun State, Southwestern Nigeria. Ewusi is the traditional title of the king of Makun. He ascended the throne on 27th May 2007.

Sagamu is composed of 13 different towns which are as follows: Makun, Ofin, Epe, Soyindo, Ibido, Egbepa, Ado, Ipoji, Batoro, Oko, Ijoko, Latawa, Ijagba that came together in 1865.

Makun has four ruling houses. They are:-

(a) Osoribiya/Abara
(b) Inanuwa
(c) Muleoruwa/Orungba
(d) Eerikokunsa/Olukokun/Agunloye.

The four ruling houses rotate the kingship of the Ewusi.

On the demise of an Ewusi , it is the tradition of Makun to perform all the traditional rites and rituals. The next ruling house knows itself. It is their duty to present the candidate for the vacant stool. The family can present one or more candidates to the kingmakers in Makun. The kingmakers in Makun are ten in number. They are the following through their titles. Only those who are holding these titles as at the time a new king is to be appointed are the kingmakers. They are as follows.

1. The Lisa

There are so many events that will take place between between the period of selection and coronation. There will be restriction, seclusion, and transformation in a practice commonly known as Ipebi.

Ipebi

This is usually a three-month seclusion in a native shrine He is not allowed to see any member of his family except male. During this time he goes through different rites and learns all he needs to know about the traditions and customs of the land and he is fortified traditionally and he gains the power of the previous Ewusis before him. This is a period of real transformation from a mere man to the Oba, alase, ekeji Orisa (King, the ruler and the gods’ lieutenant).

Below are some of the known Ewusis that have ruled over Makun although It was be noted that this is not an exhaustive list due to lack of historical records.

Ewusi of Makun with the Akarigbo & Paramount ruler of Remoland, Oba Babtunde Adewale Ajayi in a meeting

Although, the purpose of this piece is not to give a comprehensive account of the history of Makun or Indeed Sagamu. A more comprehensive account can be found  here, nevertheless it is noteworthy to remember that Sagamu is the commercial capital of Remo Town, a very important Town in Ogun State that also seats the paramount ruler of Remo, the Akarigbo.

I remain a proud son of Makun, a great, thriving & developing community full of hard working and accommodating people. Makun is the home of colourful tradition, culture and festivals. Home to many masquerades, traditional worshippers, Christians & muslims alike. It is home to many industrious sons & daughters of  Sagamu and Ogun State. Long live Makun!
